Money Doesn’t have Feelings – but clients do.

That’s one of the many quotes from Ashley Quamme’s wonderful podcast Planning & Beyond.

So when you’re talking to clients about their money, it’s really important to understand how they feel about it. What does money mean or represent to them?

💷 Is it security?

💷 It is power?

💷 Is it freedom?

💷 Is it status or self-worth?

Or maybe it’s a couple of things.

And if you are working with a couple, is it the same for both of them?

Each client will have unique feelings about money and those feelings are tied up in their money beliefs.

And its their money beliefs that drive how they send, save and invest.

Which is what you do with them.

There is one thing that is true about all clients.

How they feel about their money will aways be different to how you feel about their money.

So, if you don’t know how they feel about their money, you are basing your advice on how you feel about their money. And that may be very different.

Learn how to have conversations that go beyond numbers, and you can explore what money means to them. Conversations that go deeper take your client relationships to a deeper level of connection.
